The Eastern Kentucky Genealogical Society has provided its members a link to their Eastern Kentucky roots for nearly 30 years. Organized in November, 1975, the Society has aided many thousands interested in discovering their ties to the families and history of our region.
The Society publishes the Tree Shaker quarterly for its members. The Tree Shaker serves the members of the Society as a way to share information and place free queries about their ancestors.
The Society publishes a variety of other useful genealogical research materials that are for sale.
The Eastern Kentucky Genealogical Society sponsors workshops and provides member research support.
Through the years the Eastern Kentucky Genealogical Society has been a supporter of the Boyd County Public Library Minnie Winder Genealogy Room.
